Obamanation

Okay, now that it’s official (he’s President now, in case you didn’t know), I want to solidify my thoughts on Obama. I’m not a hard-core liberal by any means, but I have some views on these issues - some that differ, and some that match. Mostly differ, but it’s a “lesser of two evils” thing for me.I’m a little worried about the economy thing, and we don’t know how it’s going to turn out, so we’ll have to see if what Mr. Obama has planned is the right thing to do. But Mr. Cramer is an idiot. He keeps claiming he’s for the “little guy”, but said himself he’s helping people try to collect the most wealth they can. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: you don’t need wealth. I don’t even think anyone should make more than $250,000 a year - what do you need all of that money for? An expensive car or huge mansion is completely unnecessary. Unless you’re giving generously of your wealth to the starving and poor in 3rd world countries, you’re a greedy asshole and deserve the harm that is sure to come to you. Just wait. Maybe not tomorrow, but it will come. And I’ll be happy when it comes. And you whine about increasing taxes, but that’s only because they weren’t at a healthy level before - even after his tax plan takes effect, they’ll still be lower than they were for much of the 20th century. They were higher under Reagan.

I’m a little worried about Mr. Obama’s plans regarding homosexual marriages and abortion, but we’ll have to see what he does. I still think these are things that the states should decide, but things that can only be changed through social influence - trying to enforce our personal beliefs on others through laws doesn’t work. You need to change their minds through personal conviction. If we try to force them to think the way we do, then we’re no better than the leaders in China… or Saddam Hussein… or the despots that are tearing apart their own countries in Africa.
